Indigenous Heritage Journey (09 Days 08 Nights)

Day 01 – After reaching Colombo, the energetic city of Sri Lanka, take a look at your lodging. Explore the town’s historic beauty and rich cultural legacy to start your excursion.

Day 02 – Explore Kandy, a city rich in history. After visiting the Holy Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO World Heritage site, enjoy an exciting traditional dance performance in the evening.

Day 03 – Examine Mahiyanganaya village life. Visit a village house to witness the intriguing Pan weaving and clay-making process. While trekking to the lesser-known Rathna Ella and Kaluwa Watuna Ella waterfalls, savour a traditional rice and curry lunch.

Day 04 – Spend the day in the Dambana Vedda village where the indigenous Vedda people live. Experience a traditional barbecue meal, explore caverns, go on a rainforest bush walk, and watch Veddha dances by the campfire.

Day 05 – The Gal Oya National Park is worth visiting. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in the park prior to embarking on an afternoon jeep safari where you will witness the unique wildlife and scenic splendour of the area.

Day 06 – Join the head of the Vedda village for a walk through the forests of his ancestors. Learn about the historical search grounds, become fully immersed in the environment and listen to hunter-gatherer folktales.

Day 07 – To see the local wildlife in Gal Oya National Park, begin your day with a boat safari. Spend the afternoon in a local cooking class, followed by a delicious dinner at a typical local home.

Day 08 – Trek to Little Adam’s Peak in Ella for expansive views of the surrounding mountains. Afterwards, visit the famous Nine Arches Bridge, a significant point in Sri Lanka’s railway history.

Day 09 – Enjoy your final morning in Weligama while taking in the breathtaking coastline before departing for the airport with valuable memories from this immersive, cultural, and natural experience.
